Cliff Bruner Ted Daffan
 Born on September 21, 1912 in Merryvale, LA, Ted Daffan wrote Truck Driver's Blues, the first hit of the genre. Cliff Bruner recorded the song in 1939 which sold over 100, 000 copies. The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer passed away on October 6, 1996.
Terry Fell Terry Fell
Born on May 13, 1921 in Dora, AL, Terry Fell wrote Truck Drivin' Man in 1954 and it was on the flipside of Don't Drop It. Terry's recording career was cut short due to vocal problems, but he remained in the business as a non-performer
Shel Silverstein Six Days on the Road
Born on September 25, 1932 in Chicago, IL, the multi-talented Shel Silverstein wrote many of Bobby Bare's classic truck driving songs including World's Last Truck Driving Man and the Jogger and also cut some of his own compositions.  Shel died on May 10,1999.
