From September 1979 through May 1981 on NBC, Greg Evigan starred as B.J. (Billie Joe) McKay who travelled with his pet chimp Bear in this comedy adventure series. B.J. and the Bear confronted adversaries including Sheriff Elroy P. Lobo & Deputy Perkins portrayed by Claude Akins & Mills Watson respectively. In 1981, Candi Brough, Randi Brough, Sheila DeWindt, Sherilyn Wolter, Barbara Horan, Judy Landers, & Linda McCullough joined the cast as the "Seven Lady Truckers".
To date, BJ and the Bear has not been officially released on DVD..
